Camp Quality Volunteer Positions Include:
- COMPANION: Companion to a Camper
- COMPANION'S COMPANION: Support Companions in their role. This is a senior companion experienced in the role of Companion.
- MEDICAL STAFF: Physicians and Nurses
- KITCHEN STAFF: Cooks and Helpers
- DINING HALL STAFF: Set-Up, Dishwashing and Clean-Up
- PHOTOGRAPHER: Photos and Video Production (Must be experienced)
- LIFEGUARD: Must be Certified
- PROGRAM STAFF: Leadership and assistance in the following areas: Camp-Outs, Field Sports, Water Sports, Crafts, etc
- LOGBOOK STAFF: Personnel to capture the week at camp and turn it into a book of memories!
Overview of the Volunteer's Role in Camp Quality
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- Able to provide a minimum of 3 references
- Available for an interview on a pre-arranged date
- Willing to attend a training workshop and adhere to the rules governing Camp Quality
- Available for the full period of camp dates
- Make contact with the camper as soon as an assignment is made
- Give round the clock companionship to a child with cancer while at camp
- Resident of Eastern Ontario
- Must successfully complete a security check
- Share accommodations at camp
- Must not use tobacco, alcohol or illegal drugs while at camp
- Allow the child to choose freely the program activities at camp
- Maintain contact with the camper throughout the year through mail, phone calls and visits
- Must attend a mandatory training session usually scheduled 4-5 weeks before camp starts.
