staying safe & healthy
At Camp Quality, the well-being of our campers is our number one priority. In order to ensure the highest level of care, each camp has a designated Health Care Team to meet the individualized needs of each of our campers. This team also works in contact with the local hospital, which is never more than one hour away from the camp. Our Health Care Teams are devoted to the physical, emotional, and mental health of our campers – they are committed to ensuring a safe and fun-filled camp experience. We maintain a 15:1 ratio of campers to medical professionals.

CQ Eastern Ontario Medical Team
Each camp's Health Care Team is compromised of a combination of health care professionals. Each medical team are available 24/7 to support camper's health, and bring with them a range of experience from paediatrics, oncology, acute care, previous camp healthcare and more.
In the lead up to camp, you'll receive an introduction from our Medical Coordinator with helpful reminders about staying healthy at camp. If you are a new family to Camp Quality, or have a child on-treatment, you can expect a phone call from our Medical Coordinator. You'll also be able to meet with the Health Care Team at camper check-in and pick-up.

According to Public Health Canada, measles is a highly contagious virus that spreads easily through coughing, sneezing and direct contact with respiratory droplets. The virus can linger in the air or on surfaces for up to two hours.
Symptoms typically appear 7-21 days after exposure and may include:
-
High Fever
-
Cough, runny nose, or red/watery eyes
-
A red, blotchy rash that starts on the face and spreads downward
People are contagious for 4 days before to 4 days after the rash appears.
Many of our campers are immunocompromised or medically vulnerable. Even a single case of measles could have serious implications for the health of our community and may require hospitalization. By working together to prevent exposure, we are protecting some of the most vulnerable members of our camp community.
