Julia

Julia

Julia first started at Camp Quality in 2021 as a Virtual Volunteer. She loved the experience so much, that in 2022 she joined the CQ Northern Ontario COC as a Program Specialist and volunteered at CQ Southern Ontario as a Companion. Julia is a master's student working to become a Certified Child Life Specialist through McMaster's Child Life and Pediatric Psychosocial Care program. She is also a teaching assistant in both psychology and thanatology and also the children's Program Director at her local Unitarian congregation. At camp Julia loves doing arts and crafts, seeing all the CQ talents at the talent show and bearing witness to the absolute pure joy that comes from all the campers and volunteers! For the 2023 season, Julia is excited about seeing returning campers, meeting new campers and LARPing! Oh and you may catch her singing Fred the Moose around the campfire.

Jana has been an active and devoted volunteer for CQ since 2014, where she has held roles as a companion and lifeguard for Southern Ontario. In 2018, Jana joined the Camp Organizing Committee as the Program Coordinator. Jana’s commitment to people of all ages is apparent in her current and former positions as a Recreation Therapist. She is currently working with seniors living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. She has also held roles as a counsellor and supervisor in a residential youth facility, a youth shelter and with the YMCA. Jana spent many treasured summers as a camper and a camp counsellor and is committed to bringing that same freedom, fun and adventure to the CQ campers. Jana enjoys hiking around her home in the Blue Mountains, often with Aoife, the Irish wolfhound. She can't wait for summer 2023!
