Camper Families: Family Camp
Family Camp welcomes children of all ages, from 0 to 17 years old, including patient campers, siblings, and bereaved campers, to attend alongside their caregivers. Our programs are designed to engage everyone, ensuring fun, meaningful, and safe experiences.
Yes. Family Camp welcomes siblings to attend alongside patient campers, bereaved campers too, and their caregivers.
While we’d love to host extended family, Family Camp is designed for children to attend with up to two primary caregivers. This helps ensure all children are supported and that we can serve as many families as possible.
We understand that Family Camp is a change from past summers. Our goal is to make sure every child who wants to attend can still have a camp experience. We are happy to work with each family individually to find the best way for your child to participate. If you have questions or concerns about registration or how the new format will work for your family, please email Nathan Whan, Camp Director at nathan@campquality.org. (nathan@campquality.org.)We will work with you on a case-by-case basis to ensure your child can enjoy camp and make lasting memories.
Absolutely! Family Camp is all about connecting with other families who share similar experiences. Families will have many opportunities to interact through:
• Family free-choice activities: Enjoy activities together at your own pace.
• All-camp activities: Fun experiences where everyone joins in.
• Separate time for children and caregivers: Kids enjoy age-appropriate programs while caregivers have a chance to connect with each other.
At Family Camp, the focus is on supporting children alongside their caregivers, and cabin and activity assignments are designed to provide a safe, engaging, and balanced experience for all participants. While we do our best to match families with companions who will help them feel comfortable, we cannot guarantee that every child will have the same companion as in previous years. Our experienced volunteers will ensure that each child and family is supported, cheered on, and has a positive experience throughout the week. There will be opportunities throughout the year to see our volunteers at other Camp Quality camper only and family based programs.
Cabins at camp are shared by at least two families, providing a safe and welcoming environment. Each cabin is equipped with a private bathroom and shower. Families have designated sleeping areas to ensure privacy and comfort.
Yes! Meals at Family Camp are served buffet-style and accommodate a variety of dietary needs. Enjoy nutritious and delicious meals together as a family, with options for both children and adults.
For the health and safety of all participants, all children and caregivers attending Family Camp must meet Camp Quality’s immunization requirements. These requirements are designed to protect everyone at camp and can be reviewed here.(https://www.campquality.org/immunizations)

Volunteers: Family Camp
Family Companions is a dedicated volunteer who supports families attending Family Camp. You'll help children take part in activities, create fun and memorable experiences and give caregivers space to connect with others. As a Family Companion, you'll help families get situated at camp, and at times throughout the week supervise groups of campers, to allow caregivers the space to connect with others.
A Family Camp welcomes children and their caregivers to participate together. While the focus is still on fun, connection and camp magic, volunteers now support families and programs as a whole, helping keep everyone engaged.
Family Camp is a week full of fun, connection, and camp magic for children and their caregivers. Each day is a mix of structured activities such as swimming, crafts, games, nature walks, and campfires, along with opportunities for families to relax and connect. Some activities involve everyone with all-camp games that bring together volunteers, campers, and caregivers. Other times, programs are designed just for kids or just for caregivers, and there is also free-choice time for families to pick what they enjoy most. Volunteers help children participate safely, support activities behind the scenes, and give caregivers space to connect with others, creating a week of memorable experiences for the whole family.
Family Camp is designed to welcome more families and participants, so we’ve adjusted the volunteer structure to match. Fewer roles mean each volunteer can focus on meaningful support, build stronger connections with children and caregivers, and have a bigger impact on the overall experience. This approach ensures families get the attention they need, while volunteers have a fulfilling and manageable role throughout the week.
Yes!! Volunteers will interact closely with campers, help them participate in activities and provide encouragement and guidance in a group setting.
